He's a Big Guy...

It's official. We've got a big guy on our hands. Drew had his 2 month check-up today and he weighed in at a whopping 14lbs 2 oz. This puts him in the 82nd percentile for weight! He is only 22 3/4 inches long (22nd percentile) making him an official short and chubby little thing!! He also got started on his vaccines so he didn't enjoy the doctor visit very much. Actually, he was all smiles with the nurse while she was preparing him for the shots. Then in a blink of an eye..the cute little smile went to a pitiful little pouty face (think: the way Justin's bottom lip looks when he pouches it out) then quickly on to a very loud cry. He was okay after a few minutes. We are so thankful that he checked out all nice and healthy!!

Fish Update

Well, the fish is now in "fish heaven" as Madelyn said. She decided his name was "Swimmer" just as she was about to help daddy flush him down the toilet. Anyways, I guess the official diagnosis should have been "growth: etiology unknown". Pam you could be right, we may have some TVA water...

Just a few random thoughts...

Hello good friends! Just wanted to post some random things today....First of all, some of you have been asking me about the baby I had mentioned who was born prematurely (Charlotte Ann). In case you have not noticed, I have put a link on the left side of our blog entitled "Charli Flynt updates". This takes you to a website created just for her which gives updates on how she is doing. She is still in the NICU but is doing remarkably well. There are some pictures of her on this site as well!! She's a cutie!!

I am so happy to report that "Drew-baby" (as Madelyn has been calling him...) has slept through the night for the past 2 nights!! Wait just a second while I knock on wood......Okay. It is amazing what some sleep can do for a person!! I'm loving it. Anyways, he has been waking up around 5:30 for a feeding then will drift back to sleep for about another hour. The problem is usually Madelyn wakes up so then the day begins for me :-(. Well Madelyn spent the night with her Mimi last night so I got to drift back to sleep with Drew in our bed this morning. I woke up to this standing in our bedroom and thought we were being robbed!!! LOL LOL!!

Just kidding...Justin is training once again for the Knoxville half-marathon coming up in March. He went out this morning to do a 7 mile run....in the cold and rain!! More motivation than I have that's for sure!! Don't you think he's lookin' good though??!! ;-)

This afternoon I caught Madelyn reading some books to Drew and it was so cute. She loves him so much!! Here they are:

So then I decided it was time for a little photo shoot of Drew:

And then he was over it:

So on to the next random thing....The only pets we have in our house are Justin's fish in his huge aquarium. One of the fish has some sort of strange growth going on...we can't decide if it is a tumor or babies?? ha ha ha....here is a picture (I found out it is very hard to take a picture of a fish):

Does anyone have a diagnosis???

SNOW!!

Well we finally had a little bit of snow this morning! When I say a little that is exactly how it was. By 12:00...it was mostly gone!! Madelyn and I went out to play for a bit while Drew stayed just inside the door where I could keep an eye on him. We tried to build a snowman but as you can see...it was very small!!

We're Going to Disney World!!

Yeah!! We're so excited because we have booked our trip to Disney!! We're going at the end of April. Madelyn has been watching the "free" DVD that we got from Disney that tells all about the parks (she has been watching it every day). Until now, Madelyn thought Disney World was just the Disney store in the mall!! She is just thrilled about seeing where all the princesses live. I'm not sure how excited Drew is based on this picture!! My Mom is going with us too so we'll have an extra set of hands to help!! We can't wait!!! :-)

The Best Day

So yes, I am somewhat addicted to the Taylor Swift CD!!! It's kind of embarrasing actually!! Anyways, turn your speakers up and listen to this song...The Best Day. It is so sweet, especially for all of us moms! Every time I hear it, it just reminds me of being with my mom and now, wanting to be the best mom to my kids. I hope you like it!!

Please pray for baby girl Charlotte Ann.

Hello friends. I wanted to ask all of you who are reading this post to please take a minute to say a prayer for baby girl Charlotte. My friend Jennifer had her baby prematurely yesterday morning. Baby Charlotte was born at 30 weeks gestation and weighed in at 4lbs 3oz. She is in the NICU at UT and is expected to be there for several weeks. With all things considered, the baby is doing well...she just needs some time to mature a little more. Jennifer is feeling okay but is obviously trying to emotionally deal with all that is happening. I went to visit her this morning and when I left I just became so emotional thinking about my healthy little boy waiting on me at home. We take so much for granted sometimes. Jennifer is having to sit in her hospital room without the opportunity to just hold her newborn baby girl. I know God will see her through this. Please join me in praying for her. Thank you.
